Home for Christmas, Hallmark Plot & All

Welp, as we approach the halfway point of the epic Oxford adventure, Sarah & soon-to-be-born Baby Gloria Joy now enter their NINETH MONTH of maternity and the miracle that is bringing new life into God’s good world!

We’re now back in the Portland area for a delivery expected around Dec 27.

After Gloria’s entrance, Sarah will then be eligible for a long needed surgery which will cure the total deafness that started in her left year last spring. This will be a long anticipated surgery as it hasn’t been an option while pregnant.

Good news is the Christmas Vacation + paternity leave takes us to the end of January. That said, Oxford is now offering me the option of working remote through Sarah’s recovery as long as I’m good attending my Friday classes via video—3AM PST! All that said, I’m now working 5-day weeks from the Sherwood library, e-books and all.

Once Gloria is born and Sarah’s deafness is cured we’ll be headed back to Oxford for the remaining 16 months of my Master of Theology, funding permitting! Over halfway funded for the year and counting!

So yeah, the mid-thirties scholar returns home to small town for Christmas in time to welcome a Christmas baby and see wife’s ailment cured—Hallmark plot achieved!

PS: Emmaus and Sarah returned a little earlier than me to keep from traveling while too close to Gloria’s due date. In that time, Emmaus served as a ring-bearer in a wedding. As a two-year-old performer, he apparently did well when he charged the bride with clapping and cheering as she walked the isle. He’s mine! That one!
