Into the MTh…
Hi friends, Elliot here!
As many of you know, Sarah, Emmaus, and I have embarked on a faith-journey of a lifetime. We sold our condo, cars, and furniture, and set off on what the Lord had very clearly set on my heart—to rediscover how proclaim the news about Jesus in a way that makes sense to my very skeptical generation, all while staying firmly rooted in an historically orthodox conviction of faith.
While praying towards this, God had given me three very clear words:
“You are going to Oxford to complete the Master of Theology course.”
“I will take care of you.”
“I will show you where you’re going after Oxford.”
Well, with the help of a large scholarship, some cash from the sale of our home, and the support of family and friends, we’ve made it through our first year in a preliminary degree, Oxford’s Certificate in Theological Studies. By the summer ’23 my unconditional offer onto Oxford’s acclaimed Master of Theology was confirmed, and we are now approaching the midpoint of our three-year academic leave. In this time, we’re fully engaged my development as a pastor with the heart of an Oxford missiologist all while raising our young family of the two-year-old, Emmaus Love, and the beautiful baby Gloria Joy who we are expecting on Dec 28!
We continue prayerfully towards the ultimate end of helping millennials, Gen Z, and our kids’ generation towards a clear vision of what Jesus accomplished in his resurrection; what it means for our ultimate future; and how it should shape our mission as the Body of Christ.
